dc.description.abstract | Despite not being directly associated with the field of archeology, architecture has a noticeable importance in conserving archeological patrimony. Archeological sites are extremely sensitive working locations. They are unstable areas, often exposed to human activity and vulnerable to climate change. Thus, the architect's action in archaeological sites has a role to conserve and regenerate the place. The archaeological site of Tróia holds the remains of the largest salting complex of the Roman Empire in the West, of which there is a record. A place of high historical interest that is exposed to the consequences of climate change, mainly due to its location on the coastline. Also subject to the consequences of the cultural and religious uses carried out there, such as the celebration of the annual religious festival in honor of Nossa Senhora do Rosário. Thus, several tourists and pilgrims, arrive at this point of the Tróia peninsula to enjoy the space and the most diverse activities, even if it does not present the necessary conditions for the preservation of the place. It is an exposed and not very conservative place in terms of its heritage, where human and environmental action are the greatest risks for the preservation of the place. Based on the issues raised, a reasoned reflection is presented on the possible architectural interventions that may contribute to the conservation of the archaeological heritage of Ácala. As such, the present dissertation is developed and presented. | eng |
