Montanha, Caminho e Abrigo. Estudo a partir do Vale Glaciar da Garganta de Loriga, na Serra da Estrela.

Abstract

Este trabalho é o estudo da montanha, do caminho e do abrigo, dos seus lugares geográficos correspondentes, através do arquétipo tipológico de minifúndio, a habitação e o percurso numa quinta.Situado na base do Vale Glaciar da Garganta de Loriga, no seio da Serra da Estrela, este estudo contém a reactivação da quinta, a definição do percurso pedestre que liga os seus elementos e a reabilitação da sua habitação. Esta escolha resulta da relação pessoal com o local, aliada à intersecção de interesses reunidos neste trabalho.A partir desta matéria, é estudado o processo arquitectónico e as influências que o compõem. Como modo de investigação, é seguido o caminho a partir dos elementos do trabalho. Tal como na ampliação de escalas deste processo, progressivamente se estreita a particularização da análise. São procuradas respostas na dialética entre a visão cultural e a perspectiva pessoal, permeada pela memória e a experiência, a razão e o instinto, o meio e o edificado. Procura-se uma via no plano intermédio entre o universal, o local e o particular. A viagem é aqui encarada como metáfora deste processo, sob a temática da Arquitectura e Viagem. É procurada a autossuficiência e economia, a matriz intemporal desta tipologia. Busca-se uma perspectiva, através da Arquitectura como disciplina agregadora, na resposta às questões levantadas no decorrer deste trabalho.Espera-se luz sobre estas matérias através do estudo dos conceitos pelo prisma arquitectónico, a possibilidade de adaptação dos resultados a contextos semelhantes e uma forma de organização do conhecimento e da criação, definindo o seu caminho.

This work is the investigation of the mountain, path and shelter, and their corresponding geographical places, through the typological archetype of smallholding, dwelling and trail in a farm.Located at the base of the Garganta de Loriga Glacier Valley, in the heart of Serra da Estrela, inland Portugal, this study contains the reactivation of the farm, the definition of the pedestrian path which connects its elements, and the rehabilitation of its house. This choice results from the personal relationship with this place, combined with the intersection of interests gathered in this work.From this matter, the architectural process and the influences that compose it are studied. As a means of investigation, the study follows the path of the elements of this work. As in the magnification of scales of this process, the theoretical analysis becomes progressively narrowed. Answers are sought in the dialectic between cultural vision and personal perspective, permeated by memory and experience, reason and emotion, the environment and the built. A path is sought in the intermediate plane between the universal, the local and the particular. The journey is seen here as a metaphor for this process, under the theme of Architecture and Travel.Self-sufficiency and economy are sought, the timeless matrix of this typology. A perspective is sought, through Architecture as the aggregating discipline, in answering the questions raised throughout this work.It is expected to shed light on these matters, through the study of its concepts through the architectural prism, the possibility of adapting the results to similar contexts and a way of knowledge organization and creation, defining a path.
