FORA DA SALA DE AULA TAMBÉM SE APRENDE! A IMPORTÂNCIA DAS VISITAS DE ESTUDO NO ENSINO DA HISTÓRIA

Abstract

Este estudo tem por primordial objetivo de dar resposta à questão de investigação, “Que importância assumem as visitas de estudo no processo de ensino e aprendizagem em História?” Iremos também procurar dar resposta aos objetivos que nos propusemos a atingir, ou seja, “Verificar se as visitas de estudo contribuem para o desenvolvimento do conhecimento histórico e do património local” e “Analisar o contributo das visitas de estudo na melhoria das aprendizagens em História bem como para o aumento dos conhecimentos na disciplina.”Para isso, pretendemos, ao longo deste trabalho, analisar de que forma é que as visitas de estudo in loco e do estudo do Património e da História Local são geradoras de conhecimento na disciplina de História, bem como compreender se o estudo sobre património histórico estimula a motivação dos alunos aquando da confrontação com as fontes patrimoniais. Pretendemos também verificar se os alunos, quando realizam tarefas, são capazes de mobilizar conhecimentos adquiridos no momento da visita de estudo. Este relatório espelha o trabalho desenvolvido com as turmas de 7º ano de escolaridade da Escola EB 2,3 Inês de Castro, em Coimbra.Para isso, realizou-se uma visita de estudo in loco, à cidade de Coimbra, mais concretamente à zona da alta desta cidade, visitando o Museu Nacional Machado de Castro, o Museu da Ciência e o Jardim Botânico da Universidade de Coimbra, percorrendo-se, depois, o espaço respeitante ao núcleo amuralhado da cidade, iniciando-se no sítio onde outrora existiu o castelo da cidade e terminando no Arco de Almedina.Antes da realização da visita de estudo foi aplicada uma ficha de diagnóstico e após a realização da mesma foi entregue um inquérito para verificar se a visita de estudo in loco foi contribuidora de conhecimentos no processo de ensino e aprendizagem na disciplina de História. Os alunos realizaram, ainda na Escola, uma exposição sobre a visita de estudo, a partir de fotografias que os mesmos captaram no dia 17 de março de 2022. Acompanhando essas imagens estavam textos selecionados a partir dos seus apontamentos.Analisando as respostas, verificou-se que os alunos foram capazes de mobilizar os conhecimentos que adquiriram na visita de estudo e que este recurso foi muito vantajoso no seu processo de ensino e aprendizagem.

The main aim of this study is to answer the research question: "What is the importance of study visits in the teaching and learning process of History? We will also seek to answer the objectives we have chosen to explain, that is, "To verify whether study visits contribute to the development of historical knowledge and local heritage" and "To analyse the contribution of study visits to improving learning in history, as well as increasing knowledge in the subject".For that, we intend, throughout this work, to analyse how the study visits in loco and the study of Heritage and Local History are generators of knowledge in the History discipline, as well as to understand if the study of these sites stimulate the motivation of the students when confronted with heritage sources. We also intend to verify if the students, when executing tasks, are able to mobilize the knowledge acquired in the study visits. This study was developed with 7th grade classes from Escola EB 2,3 Inês de Castro, in Coimbra.They visited the Machado de Castro National Museum, the Science Museum and the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra and toured the old walled city centre, starting the visit where the city's castle once stood and ending this journey at the Almedina Arch.Two questionnaires were administered. One before and one after the study visit, to check whether it had contributed to the learning and teaching process in the history subject. The students also held an exhibition in school about the study visit, based on photographs they had taken on 17 March, and the accompanying texts were based on their notes. After analysing the answers, it was found that the students were able to mobilise the knowledge acquired from the study visit and that this resource was very beneficial in their teaching and learning process.
