Title: | A complexidade da figura de Dejanira. Um modelo de 'rainha vingativa' | Other Titles: | Deianeira, a complex figure, under the model of 'the vengeful queen' | Authors: | Silva, Maria de Fátima | Keywords: | Heródoto; rainha vingativa; Clitemnestra; Medeia; Herodotus; vengeful queen; Clytemnestra; Medea | Issue Date: | 2019 | Serial title, monograph or event: | Humanitas | Volume: | 74 | Abstract: | A personalidade complexa e o comportamento que Sófocles atribui a
E a primeira convenção manifesta a
The complex personality and attitude of Sophoclean Deianeira, in Women of Trachis, allows a net of confluences with figures and situations that Herodotus’ narration and Aeschylus’ and Euripides’ tragedy put in evidence too. And the first convention a comparison of all these texts offers is the well known episode of the ‘vengeful queen’. So we propose here an analysis of Deianeira in Sophocles, considering the topics of this narrative and dramatic convention. |
