SISTEMA DE ORIENTAÇÃO URBANA: Sinalética Exterior do Polo II da UC

Abstract

A presente dissertação, visa centrar-se em sistemas de orientação, mostrando a sua importância na vida quotidiana dos cidadãos, com a consciência que esta deverá transpor a barreira linguística. Contudo, o público sofre influencias de outros fatores que interferem com comunicação, devendo por isso valorizar-se as particularidades comunicativas do espaço, da ação da memória e do significado da mensagem num dado lugar. Mas, para que seja possível a instalação de um sistema de orientação urbano, no campus do Polo II da Universidade de Coimbra, torna-se crucial saber: a história dos sistemas de orientação/sinalética, como nos transportes, como nos Jogos Olímpicos; a história dos sistemas de orientação/sinalética e a clarificação de alguns conceitos, como wayfinding; os tipos de sistemas de orientação/sinalética, abordando a sinalética nos transportes ferroviários e aéreos e a sinalética de eventos; os elementos do sistema de orientação/sinalética; explorar um estudo de caso dando-lhe soluções credíveis. Por conseguinte, torna-se necessário uma toma de consciência sobre o contributo a que me proponho nesta dissertação.

The following dissertation deals with orientation systems, showing the importance in the daily life of citizens keeping in mind that should overcome the language barrier. However, the public is influenced by other fators that interfere with communication, and which valorise the particularities of the space, the ation of memory and the meaning of the message in a certain place. For this to succeed it is crucial to understand the mechanism of the urban orientation system in Coimbra University, to know the history of its signage system, and to clarify a number of important concepts like finding your way. This also means defining the different types of signage and orientation and dealing with railroad transport, for example in the Olympic games, and with signage in railroad and flight traffic and the signage used with public events and public places (e.g. exhibitions, sprots events, museums, hospitals, universities). The elements of the orientation/signage system (legibility, typography, colour, etc...), and explore the study of each case sports.
