Biography
Mariana Riquito is a Junior Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC) and a Research Fellow at the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research. Previously, she has been a Research Assistant at the Institute for Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP) and a Policy Analyst at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in International Relations from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC) and a Master's Degree in Sociology and Political Sciences from Sciences Po Bordeaux. She has been distinguished with multiple academic awards, namely with the SYLFF Fellowship from the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research (2019/20), with the "FEUC Exemplar" Award (2018/19), the Merit Scholarship of the University of Coimbra (2018/19) and the "3% Best Students of the University of Coimbra" Award (2017/18). Her current research interests include the Anthropocene and Ecofeminism; Radical Critical Theory and Social Emancipation; Prefigurative Politics and Grassroots Resistances.
