Biography
Dr. Pedro R. Torres is member of the “Immobilized Enzymes Group” at Laboratory of Biochemistry and co-worker of Prof. Dr. Francisco Batista-Viera, head of the Biosciences Department at the Facultad de Química, Universidad de la República (Montevideo, Uruguay) and Prof. Dr. Enrique J. Mammarella from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (Santa Fe, Argentina). He is Profesor of Biochemistry (University of Education from Uruguay), junior researcher of PEDECIBA (Program for Development of Basic Sciences) and ANII (National Agency for Investigation and Innovation). He was graduated in Biochemistry and obtained a PhD in Chemical Sciences. His main research fields include: biocatalysis and new strategies for enzyme immobilization; stabilization of biocatalysts; biotechnological applications of immobilized enzymes; and developments and applications of affinity chromatography techniques.
