Biography
Covadonga Valdaliso Casanova graduated in 2000 at the Universidad de Cantabria and received her PhD at the Universidad de Valladolid in 2007. She is a researcher at the Centro de História da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa (CHUL), where she co-coordinates the Research Group 'Uses of the Past', one of the five research groups of the CHUL. She teaches Portuguese Medieval History at the Faculdade de Letras of the Universidade de Lisboa. In the last five years she has published 15 articles and book chapters in Spanish, Portuguese and English, as well as dictionary entries and dissemination texts; she has co-coordinated two journals’ special issues, has translated a book into Spanish (Historia Medieval de Portugal, Universidad de Granada, 2019), has co-organised 5 scientific meetings, and has been invited as speaker by several universities. Her studies focus on medieval Iberian History, especially the historiography written in the Iberian Peninsula in the Middle Ages. To better understand these texts from a multidisciplinary perspective she is pursuing a PhD in Literature at the Universidad de Alcalá.
