Abstract

Num momento crucial da Humanidade, em que a necessidade de preservar a água potável se tornou fundamental para a continuação da vida sobre a Terra, recorda-se neste ensaio como, ao longo dos tempos e, de modo especial, na época romana, aos mananciais e aos rios se atribuíam virtudes sobrenaturais. Alude-se também à actividade dos vedores (aquileges).

At a moment in what the preservation of the potable water is one of the more important problems to all the regions in the world, we remember in this essay how the fountains and the rivers were involved, in the Roman times, with a very sacred vell.
