Title: | Os monumentos epigráficos, retratos de vida... em Scallabis | Authors: | Encarnação, José d' | Keywords: | Scallabis; Praesidium Iulium; Cornelii Bocchi. ABSTRACT: A small introduction shows the important function of the roman epigraphic monuments as historic sources. We study the epigraphic corpus of the Colonia Scallabitana (today, Santarém, at the right river of the Tage), a corpus essentially composed by the epitaphs of Scallabitani milites dead in service at Rome or at Lambaesis, for example. This colonia created by Caesar had surely a economic strategic position in the Roman Lusitania and this activity explains the strict relation with important magistrates like the Cornelii Bocchi. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/10316/42254 | ISSN: | 2183-1467 | Rights: | openAccess |
