The Congruence Scale (EC) (Lee, 2002) assesses the individual's relationship with Self, with others and with the context. It was translated and adapted for the Portuguese population from a sample of 254 participants, from the general population. Studies of validity (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis – EFA and CFA) and reliability (e.g., internal consistency) were conducted and, subsequently, replicated in a sample of pathological gamblers. It is suggested a two‑factor structure (Spiritual/Universal and Intra‑Personal) that proved to be adjusted: CFA ‑ χ2 = 185.602 (p < .001), χ2/df = 1.875, CFI = .954, GFI = .919, RMSEA= .059 (Lo = .05, Hi = .07).The EC presents good levels of internal consistency ‑ Factor 1 (α = .93) and Factor 2 (α = .75). The study has some limitations (e.g., non‑probabilistic and convenience sample, not stratified), suggesting the continuation of studies of the CS (e.g., construction and study of new items). |
