Estudos sobre a história das mulheres em Portugal: as grandes linhas de força do século XXI

Abstract

Neste estudo é feito um pequeno balanço das principais linhas de rumo da produção historiográfica portuguesa na área de estudos da história das mulheres e do género referentes aos séculos XIX e XX. Para além da problematização das principais questões teóricas e metodológicas que este campo de investigação levanta, é traçada, de uma forma breve, a “história da história” da evolução dos estudos em Portugal, bem como as grandes linhas temáticas que têm merecido a atenção dos historiadores, apontando-se as mais recentes contribuições.

This essay provides a brief survey of the major trends of Portuguese historiography in the field of 19th and 20th century history of women and gender. In addition to problematizing the principal theoretical and methodological questions raised by this research field, the author outlines a brief “history of the history” of its development in Portugal, and identifies the major themes that historians have been focusing on, pointing to the most recent contributions to the field.
