Abstract: Our main goal is the study of the «Iliad 's» similes that evoke the child's world and the relationships between the mother and her little children. In the article's first part, which is dedicated to this subject we study the following similes: l ) 2. 289-290, 337-338., 2) 4. 130- 13 I , 8. 27 1-272, l 6. 7-1 l : 3) 1 l . 558-565, I 5. 360-366, l 6. 257-267,. 4) 1 I . 267-272, 12. 432-436. This analysis is completed with a brief scheme of formal and thematic aspects and we can confirm that the poet gives particular importance to the relationships between mother and son and to the children's games. Since the evocation of the child's world doesn't limit itself to the similes, in the second part we will shortly examine the other references to this theme found in the. «Iliad». With this study we intend to put in evidence the poet's realistic look and his deep knowledge of child's behavior, as well as the extraordinary beauty of these simples, their evoking power and uniqueness.
