Qualidade de vida e coping ao longo do ciclo vital da família

Abstract

O presente estudo tem por objectivo analisar a qualidade de vida e o coping do sistema familiar ao longo das etapas do seu ciclo vital, tal como são avaliados pelos respectivos questionários Qualidade de Vida (QOL) e Escala de Avaliação Pessoal Orientada para Crise em Família (F-COPES). Para tal, baseamo-nos numa amostra de 316 sujeitos, com idades compreendidas entre os 20 e os 79 anos, residentes em Portugal Continental. Verificámos que a percepção da qualidade de vida global e da utilização do coping familiar, a nível total e das várias componentes, varia consoante as tarefas e crises associadas às sete etapas do percurso familiar, para além desta relação sofrer a influência do nível sócio-económico, zona de residência e estrutura familiar (formas de família) dos sujeitos, no que diz respeito à qualidade de vida. Não se verificou o efeito mediador da variável “sexo” na relação mencionada nem nas variáveis dependentes.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the quality of life and the coping of the family system across the stages of the life cycle, as they are evaluated by the questionnaires Qualidade de Vida (QOL) and Escala de Avaliação Pessoal Orientada para Crise em Família (F-COPES). To accomplish this purpose, we have based ourselves on a sample of 316 people, from 20 to 79 years old, residents in Portugal. We ascertained that the perception of the quality of the global life and the usage of the family coping, on a total level and on its several components, changes according to the tasks and crisis associated with the seven stages of the family pathway, and this relation also suffers the influence of the subjects social-economical level, place of residence and family structure (types of family), in what their quality of life is concerned. It was not verified the mediator effect of the “sex” variable on the mentioned relation nor in the dependent variables.
