In the title compound, (C(3)H(7)N(6))(2)[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)]·6H(2)O, the coordination geometry of the Cu(II) atom can be described as distorted octa-hedral. The equatorial plane is defined by four O atoms from two 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The axial positions are occupied by the N atoms of the same ligands. There is an extensive three-dimensional hydrogen-bond network reinforcing crystal cohesion.pt
