Biography
Mário Miguel Mendes is a young palaeobotanist from Portugal. He has more than 15 years experience in palaeobotanical and palynological studies and is author of several peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference papers. Currently is senior researcher at MARE - Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (University of Coimbra, Portugal) and consultant researcher at CIMA - Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (University of Algarve, Portugal). He is affiliate of the International Organisation of Palaeobotany (IOP) and member of the American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologists (AASP). His main research interests are: history of angiosperms evolution, with an emphasis on reproductive biology, phylogeny and palaeoecology.
