Vladímir Solovióv e a Ideia de Humanidade

Abstract

O presente artigo centra-se numa comunicação proferida por Vladímir Solovióv (1853-1900) em 1898, na Sociedade Filosófica da Universidade de São Petersburgo, a fim de homenagear Augusto Comte (1798-1857) no centenário do seu nascimento. O título escolhido por Solovióv foi “Ideja Čelovečestva u Avgusta Konta” (Идея Человечества у Августа Конта), i.e., “A Ideia de Humanidade de Augusto Comte”. Na referida comunicação, para além de ser apresentada a ideia de humanidade que Comte tinha, no entender do filósofo russo, em mente, assistese a uma tentativa de ultrapassar as insuficiências inerentes à mesma. O autor deste artigo pretende expor e interpretar filosoficamente o discurso do pensador moscovita. Por fim, o autor espera transmitir uma modesta mas atual e significativa dimensão do pensamento de Solovióv aos leitores de literatura filosófica em língua portuguesa.

The present article centers on a talk given by Vladimir Solovyov (1853- 1900) in 1898 in the Philosophical Society of St. Petersburg University to honor Auguste Comte (1798-1857) on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Solovyov chose the following title: “Ideja Čelovečestva u Avgusta Konta” (Идея Человечества у Августа Конта), i.e., “Auguste Comte’s Idea of Humanity.” In that communication, in addition to presenting the idea of humanity that, in Solovyov’s view, Comte had in mind, an attempt is made to overcome its inherent shortcomings. The author of this article aims at exposing and interpreting the speech of the Muscovite thinker philosophically. Finally, the author hopes to convey a modest but prevailing and significant dimension of Solovyov’s thought to the readers of Portuguese-language philosophical literature.
