História das mulheres e de género em Portugal: horizontes temáticos e desafios atuais

Abstract

Neste artigo traça-se o desenvolvimento dos estudos das mulheres e de género em Portugal, desde o início do século XXI à atualidade, identificando-se o seu contributo para a historiografia recente e para a renovação da ciência histórica. Tomando como elemento de análise a investigação produzida em Portugal desde o ano de 2000, captada, sobretudo, a partir de bases de dados de repositórios científicos, apontam-se as principais linhas de pesquisa, os seus pressupostos epistemológicos e enunciam-se as áreas temáticas pouco exploradas e/ou em construção.

This article focuses on the development of women and gender studies in Portugal, from the beginning of the 21st century onwards, until the present moment. It also identifies their contribution to recent historiography and to the renovation of historical science. Considering as analysis element all the research produced in Portugal since the year 2000, gathered mostly from the databases and scientific repositories of both universities and other sources, we show the several lines of research, the epistemological presuppositions in which they are grounded, and we refer to their constraints and unexplored and/or undergoing thematic areas. Likewise, we stress the dynamism of these fields of study, the way they have influenced the emergence of new areas of scientific knowledge, and their impact in cultural democratization. Finally, we address some issues considering the political use of these areas and consequent implications.
