The amphitheatre of Conimbriga was discovered during the Portuguese-French Campaigns in the 1970's, however, only in the 1990's the archaeological excavations began. This public building was built at the end of the Julius-Claudian period, possibly in the Claudian-Neronian period, with a dimension that is around 98 meters by 86 meters, and with a capacity for about 4,000 spectators, is located in the valley constituted by the canyon flúvio-karst of Condeixa-a-Velha.Although much of the amphitheater is destroyed due to its demolition, in a period before the end of the third century and the beginning of the next century, the entrances West and East are conserved and corresponding to the greater axis of the building.Target of three separate excavation campaigns between 1992 and 2013, it is in the year 2015 that new research is being carried out in this area of the city, with the aim of understanding better the diachronies that this space has suffered over time. The following report aims to exposing the results of the archaeological excavations carried out between November of 2015 and June of 2016 in the amphitheater zone, as well as the presentation of the analytical synthesis of local and regional pottery recoverd from the excavations of 2013, in the same area, and 2015/2016.The second part of this work deals with the study of the common pottery of these two archaeological campaigns, taking into account the methodologies and the chronological problems inherent to the study of the common pottery in Conimbriga. Next, the study is approached according to the various factories present in this archaeological site.eng
