DO Colectivo para o Particular - A Apropriação do espaço em três Residências Universitárias de Coimbra.

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem por objectivo aprofundar o modo como o espaço da habitação colectiva relaciona diferentes níveis de intimidade ou partilha, promovendo usos particulares e colectivos.Através do programa das Residências de Estudantes da Universidade de Coimbra, o estudo propõe reflectir sobre a influência do espaço nas vivências dos estudantes, nas relações que estabelecem dentro da habitação com a comunidade universitária. Assim, reconhece-se as relações interpessoais que inserem o estudante na comunidade universitária e por considerar-se que as relações estão marcadas pelas tradições, ritos ou hábitos, contextualiza-se o alojamento estudantil na cidade de Coimbra. Realça-se a conjugação de espaços que constroem o programa das Residências Universitárias, estabelecendo o contacto e a transição entre o carácter colectivo e o particular. É nestes diferentes níveis de pluralidade no uso, ou graus de colectividade, que o estudo, através de casos de estudo representativos, reflecte sobre as variáveis do espaço que provocam transformações nas vivências e na integração das diferentes relações interpessoais do estudante universitário na habitação. A interpretação e reconhecimento do ambiente das Residências Universitárias que resulta da apropriação dos estudantes, fazem-se através das actividades, relações e vivências que ocorrem em cada espaço, reflectindo sobre os momentos de projecto e experimentação nos casos de estudo, colocando assim, o Homem no centro da compreensão das acções do espaço.

The purpose of this dissertation is to explore how the collective housing space relates different levels of intimacy or sharing, promoting individual and collective uses. Through the Student Residencies Program of the University of Coimbra, the study proposes to reflect on the influence of space on students’ experiences in the relationships they establish within the housing with the university community. Thus, it is recognized the interpersonal relations that insert the student in the university community and because it is considered that the relations are marked by the traditions, rites or habits, the student accommodation in the city of Coimbra is contextualized. The study highlights the articulation of the spaces build by the University Residencies Program, promoting contact and transition between the private and the collective features. It is at these different levels of plurality of use, or degrees of collective appropriation, that the study, through representative case studies, reflects on the variables of the space that generate transformations in the experiences and the integration of the different interpersonal relations of the university student in the dwelling. The interpretation and recognition of the environment of the University Residences that results from the appropriation of the students, are made through the activities, relationships and experiences that occur in each space, reflecting on the project moments and experimentation of the case studies, thus placing the Man In the center of the understanding of the influences of space.
