dc.description.abstract | Many analyses were proposed about religion and really concretized in this quarter of century, from the first round-table about Roman Lusitania, in 1978 at Bordeaux, to our days. Original ideas were presented and also – perhaps it this the most important factor of the knowledge’s renewal – more divinities’ names were known. In this paper we try to show those enormous advancements about the so named classic divinities, oriental and indigenous divinities. We think that the geographic distribution of the cults had not changed: the classic divinities and the oriental divinities (strongly attached to the economic interests of their ‘brothers’) were obviously more present in the cities, and the indigenous divinities had the rural people’s preferences. Nevertheless, four important epigraphic monuments were recently discovered. Their texts gave us the opportunity to know better how the pre-roman peoples were organized and what was, in reality, his religious mentality in comparison with the urban cults, where the politic influences are more evident. | pt |
