Perceção de adolescentes acerca da qualidade da relação com os pais e dos seus comportamentos de agressividade na escola

Abstract

A presente dissertação teve como principal objetivo aprofundar o conhecimento acerca da perceção que os adolescentes têm da qualidade da relação com os seus pais e o modo como se veem envolvidos na prática de comportamentos agressivos e de bullying. A amostra é constituída por 49 adolescentes de turmas de 7º e 8º ano, de uma Escola de Ensino Básico e Secundário, em Anadia. A revisão de literatura revelou o caráter de urgência no estudo dos comportamentos agressivos e da prática de bullying, devido ao agravamento e perpetuação deste tipo de condutas e ao aumento da frequência e da diversidade que estas práticas assumem em contexto escolar. Também a escassez de estudos acerca da relação pais-filhos e o modo como se possa refletir nos comportamentos agressivos e de bullying, motivou o desenvolvimento desta investigação, de intenção exploratória e design descritivo. Foram aplicados: um questionário sociodemográfico, o questionário EMBU-A (Parental Rearing Style Questionnaire for use with Adolescents, Gerlsma et al., 1991; versão portuguesa por Lacerda, 2005) e um conjunto de questões elaboradas a partir do IAVE – Inventário para Avaliação da Violência na Escola (Matos, Ralha- Simões & Jesus, 2012). Os resultados obtidos sugerem que quanto maior é o suporte emocional percecionado pelos adolescentes face ao pai e à mãe, menor é a prática de comportamentos agressivos e de bullying percebidos. Por outro lado, quanto maior a perceção de sobreproteção e de rejeição na relação com os pais, mais frequente é a prática percebida de comportamentos agressivos e de bullying.

The present study aimed to increase knowledge about the perception that adolescents have the quality of the relationship with their parents and how this is reflected in the practice of aggressive behavior and bullying. The sample consists of 49 adolescents of some classes of 7th and 8th grades of basic and secondary school of Anadia. The literature review revealed the urgency in the study of aggressive behavior and bullying practice due to aggravation and perpetuation of this type of behavior and the increased frequency and diversity that these practices play in schools. Also the lack of studies on the relationship parent-child and how they can reflect on aggressive behavior and bullying, motivated the development of this research, exploratory and descriptive design intent. The instruments employed were the sociodemographic questionnaire, EMBU-A (Parental Rearing Style Questionnaire for use with Adolescents, Gerlsma et al., 1991; versão portuguesa por Lacerda, 2005) and a set of questions from the IAVE (Inventory for Assessment Violence in School, Matos, Ralha-Simões & Jesus, 2012). The results suggest that the greater the emotional support perceived by teenagers against the father and mother, the lower is the practice of aggressive behavior and observed bullying. On the other hand, the greater the perception of overprotection and rejection in the relationship with the parents, the greater is the practice of aggressive behavior and bullying checked.
