Within the scope of supervised pedagogical practice, this report aims to promote the importance of the value of Humanitas and its representation nowadays from written text, in Portuguese and Latin lessons. The first part of this report includes a brief description from the school where I was as well as the environment around it and the classes that I was related to, followed by a reflection about my pedagogical practice throughout school year. The second part comprises a theoretical basis for the case study of this report, about the concept of Humanitas and the importance of reading to the questioning of the values. It follows the didatictization and operationalization of the proposal of teaching, using the Camões lyrical and epic, in Portuguese, and the texts about the works Prometeu Agrilhoado and Pro Archia and on the figure of Numa Pompilio, in Latin. This chapter ends with a presentation, analysis and interpretation of the data obtained and the respective conclusions. The students recognized the relevance of Humanitas as value for the society and for the individual and, in general, adopted a more active stance in the face of reading of the texts, having reflection on this theme contributed to development of their critical capacity.
