dc.description.abstract | The present dissertation had the main goal of deepening the knowledge on the social representations of luso-tropicalism and prejudice in the workplace. The sample consists of 207 portuguese employees and was collected using selfadministered questionnaires. A review of the existing literature showed that the information about the topic is rather limited, what lead us to choose an exploratory design and descriptive for the study. The results suggest the permanence of luso-tropicalist beliefs in the portuguese community. However, the results didn't corroborate the association of luso-tropicalism and the belief in the supposed absence of prejudice towards the immigrants in the workplace. The results confirm previous studies, suggesting that adherence to the luso-tropicalism not contribute so there is less prejudice. | por |
