"O assistente social como mediador de conflitos na redução e prevenção do insucesso escolar com ênfase na indisciplina"

Abstract

Com o objetivo de melhorar a qualidade do ensino em escolas que se inserem em meios socialmente desfavorecidos, o projeto territórios educativos de intervenção prioritária (TEIP) possibilitou ao assistente social tornar-se num mediador de conflitos na redução e na prevenção do insucesso escolar com enfase na indisciplina. Perante os casos de indisciplina existentes nas escolas e que têm influências no sucesso/insucesso dos alunos, procurou-se compreender o motivo que leva estes jovens a se comportarem de forma conturbada em contexto de sala de aula e quais as estratégias mais eficazes para agir e lidar diariamente com eles, no âmbito escolar. O presente estudo teve como principal objetivo analisar as estratégias adotadas pela assistente social como mediadora de conflitos na prevenção e na redução do insucesso escolar com alunos que manifestem indisciplina em situações de Ordem de Saída da Sala de Aula (OSSA) sinalizados ao Gabinete de Apoio ao Aluno (GAA) e/ou que se dirijam ao Gabinete de Serviço Social (GSS). Para tal, realizou-se uma revisão da literatura que permitiu compreender todo o enquadramento teórico do objeto em estudo e para a recolha dos dados optou-se pelo método qualitativo com base na técnica de observação direta e participante. Deste estudo concluiu-se que a mediação efetuada nesta escola não é completamente positiva, apesar do esforço da assistente social em manter as atitudes e o ambiente profissional adequados durante o processo de intervenção, e que a justificação para os comportamentos adotados por estes jovens está relacionado com o ambiente ecológico onde se desenvolvem.

In order to improve the quality of education in schools that fall in socially disadvantaged envirouments, the educational territories of priority intervention programme (TEIP) enabled the social worker to become a mediator in conflicts in the reduction and prevention of school failure with emphasis on indiscipline. In view of the cases of unruly behavior in schools and have wich influences on the success / failure of the students, we tried to understand the reason why these young people to behave in a troubled way in the classroom context and what are the most effective strategies for action and daily deal with them in the school. This study aimed to analyse the strategies adopted by the social worker as a mediator of conflicts in preventing and reducing school failure prevention and reduction with students who show indiscipline in Outbound Order situations in the Classroom (OSSA) who are marked by the Support Office student (GAA) and / or who go to the Social Service Office (GSS). To this end, we carried out a literature review which enabled us to understand all the theoretical framework of the object under study. To collect data we chose the qualitative method based on the technique of direct observation and participant. In this study it was concluded that the mediation done in this school is not completely positive, despite the efforts of the social worker to maintain the attitudes and professional environment suitable throughout the intervention process, and we also came to the conclusion that the justification for the behaviour adopted by these young people is related to the ecological environment where they develop.
