The major aim of this investigation is to contribute to the ongoing investigation related to the human populations that inhabited the region of Baixo Alentejo during the Middle Bronze Age of the Iberian Peninsula. The funerary anthropology and the exhumed human remains of 21 of the 25 hypogea unearthed in Torre Velha 3 (São Salvador, Serpa) were analysed. The human remains found in these structures represente a total of 28 individuals, 22 adults, 5 non adults and 1 whose analysis was inconclusive. These include 19 individual burials, 2 double burials, 5 reductions and 2 inconclusive funerary contexts. All the exhumed individuals were found in the main chamber of the hypogea in foetal position, and the orientation of the skeletons was very heterogeneous. Only in one hypogeum was a skeleton recovered in the antechamber. Manipulation of human remains can be suggested in two hypogea, always involving the skull of non-adults: in one hypogeum [1712] – [1713] a non-adult’s skull was absent and in the hypogeum [2471] – [2472] the skulls of two non-adults were found separated and far from the resto f their skeletons. The analysed adult sample is made upo f 11 female and 9 male individuals (n=20). Three non-adults with age at death ranging between 5 and 9 years old, one between 10 - 14 years old and another one between 14-19 years old were also recovered. The funerary offerings seem to change according to the sex the skeleton. Pottery and daggers were found among female individuals. Faunistic offering were presente among individuals of both genders. In terms of dental morphology, the absence of Carabelli cusps (0% n=13) and the high frequency of lower canines with two roots (16.7% n=18) stands out. In general, it seems that the morphological pattern of this sample is similar to the populations of Northern Africa, Western and Northern Europe. In a preliminary note, it was noted that there might be a possible dental morphological difference between the Neolithic/ Chalcolithic populations and the Middle Bronze populations in the South-western Iberia. However, more data is required for further inferences. Among the morphological analysis, the [2241] and [2007] skeletons, female and male respectively ,had a higher anterior-posterior flatness of the clavicle than expeted. This may be due to an anatomic variation or related to some biomechanic constraint. This morphologic variation is now beginning to be noted in other samples of the same region xi with the same chronology, namely Monte do Vale do Ouro 2 and Ribeira de S. Domingos. Another case stands out, this time in skeleton [2069], with angle of the femoral neck and head relatively low when compared to the greater trochanter. This case is similar to some other cases dated to the Neolithic/Chalcolithic of Portugal. One possible diagnostic is hypochondroplasia. Other pathologies were registered, such as porotic hyperostosis, severe arthrosis, osteochondritis dissecans, one fracture and two possible cases of metastatic carcinomas. Some individuals show signs of atypical dental wear, coincident with extramastigatory wear. In 52% of the skeletons studied (n=25) it was possible to score at least one carious lesions of small size. In some hypercementosis in the posterior teeth was recorded, which may be related to excessive occlusal dental wear.
