On the scale of urban topoclimate several factors are involved such as the density of buildings and impervious surfaces, urban morphology, topography, vegetation and proximity to major water bodies, responsible not just for hygrometric and thermal contrasts in space, but also with direct effects on wind fields. In medium-sized cities, where urban settlement is part of a morphological context more or less bumpy, even on the coast, topography is often the key factor in interaction with other factors. This is the case in our study area, the city of Figueira da Foz, where the Boa Viagem Mountain, the Atlantic Ocean and the estuary of the Mondego, contribute to a very specific topoclimatic context. With the aim of the research being topoclimatic contrasts in urban and peri-urban space, we have made several observation campaigns in order to study temperature, relative humidity and wind direction and speed, with data gathered from the field to be supplemented with data obtained from an urban network of thermographs under protection, which together allowed us to observe the fields thermohygrometic, in its own spatial and temporal variability, and intra interdiurnal. After understanding the salient features of the weather pattern of this coastal area, where the "game" between the systems atmosphere - ocean - land surface (the latter modified by the city) is a constant, we identified and defined the units of homogeneous climate response (climatopes), for which some guidance is offered in a climate of a logical improvement of urban sustainability in Figueira da Foz
