Configurações estruturais da família e coping familiar

Abstract

Foi realizado um estudo para perceber se existe alguma relação entre as configurações estruturais das famílias e as suas estratégias de coping. Para isso foi analisada a estrutura “pas de deux”/casal de idosos e 3 gerações e recorreu-se também a um grupo de controlo. Os resultados revelaram existirem apenas diferenças significativas entre as duas configurações e o grupo de controlo. A estratégia de coping, procura do apoio espiritual é utilizada com mais frequência pelas famílias “pas de deux”/casal de idosos e as famílias de 3 gerações que utilizam de forma mais significativa a estratégia avaliação passiva. Estes resultados podem eventualmente estar relacionados com as características da amostra (nível socioeconómico baixo, residência em zona urbana) e particularmente com as etapas do ciclo vital familiar em que fundamentalmente se inserem

This study tries to understand if are any relationship between the families’ structural configurations and her coping strategies. To verify this we analysed the structures “pas de deux”/old couples and 3 generations and we also used a control group. The results only revealed the existence of significant differences between the two configurations and the control group. The coping strategy seeking spiritual support is use with more frequency for the families “pas de deux”/old couples and the 3 generations use in a more significant way the passive appraisal strategy. This results may eventually been related with the sample characteristics (low socioeconomic level, residence in urban zone) and the family life cycle stages where this two structural configurations fundamentally belong.
