Violência conjugal e álcool : (in)existência de uma relação causal?

Abstract

Constitui-se como propósito do presente trabalho perceber a controversa relação que existe entre violência conjugal e consumo de álcool. Mais especificamente, pretende perceber-se de que forma ambas as realidades se influenciam e se potenciam bem como quais serão, nomeadamente ao nível da violência conjugal, as consequências do consumo excessivo de álcool. O estudo dos processos relativos a situações avaliadas pelo Gabinete Médico-Legal de Aveiro do Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal no ano de 2006, para além de caracterizar as vítimas e a violência conjugal a que foram sujeitas, permitiu a construção de uma Ficha de Avaliação da Violência Conjugal que se apresenta e propõe como instrumento de recolha e registo de informação pertinente sobre tal problemática. Através da realização de um conjunto de entrevistas, procurámos compreender de que forma é que vítimas e agressores conjugais percebem a relação entre violência e alcoolismo. Na linha da literatura consultada, as vítimas e agressores entrevistados não estabelecem uma relação causal entre álcool e violência, embora expressem claramente a ideia de que a violência é mais grave quando o agressor está sob o efeito álcool.

The intent of this study is to understand the controversial relationship between conjugal violence and the consumption of alcohol. It’s intended to understand how one influences and empower the other and what the consequences of alcohol consumption are, more specifically when we think about conjugal violence. The research of the situations evaluated in 2006 by the Forensic Office of Aveiro (National Institute of Forensic Medicine), besides characterize the victims and the conjugal violence what they were subject, it allowed the construction of a Token of Evaluation of the Conjugal Violence that presents and is proposed like instrument of gathering and register of relevant information on such problematic. Through the realization of a set of interviews, we tried to understand in which form it is which victims and conjugal aggressors realize the relation between violence and alcoholism. In the line of the consulted literature, the victims and interviewed aggressors do not establish a causal relation between alcohol and violence, though they express clearly the idea of which the violence is more serious when the aggressor is under the effect alcohol.
