Para isso, foi realizado um estudo retrospetivo, observacional, efetuado no HP-CHUC. Viral meningitis caused by enterovirus is one of the leading causes for meningitis in pediatric age, affecting every age since newborn to adolescence. Our goal with this work was not only to analyse enterovirus meningitis cases in pediatric age, but also to assess potential sequels that could come from this disease. For that purpose, an observational retrospective study was conducted in the HP-CHUC. In this study were included every person in pediatric age, from 0 to 18 years old, that were hospitalized in the HP-CHUC, in the last 10 years (2012-2021), due to Enterovirus meningitis.
