Abstract: The archipelago of the Azores only recently (late 20th century) began to select tourism as one of the
levers for the development of the territory. Although nature tourism is the main tourist product, other
products have been determined to complement the territory’s characteristics. Among them is nautical
tourism, specifically yacht tourism. This tourism segment generates multiple economic opportunities,
directly and indirectly. In the Azores, development of nautical tourism centered on the expansion and
construction of marinas, providing seven of the nine islands with at least one such structure. Construction
of the new marinas did not decrease the number of yachts and crew using the old ones. In fact, these
numbers increased in practically all marinas and islands. Most yachtsmen are European, and an average
of almost four people per yacht visit the Azores between April and October.2020-12-01T00:00:00ZSmart tourism and local heritage: phygital experiences and the development of geotourism routesMoreira, Claudete OliveiraFerreira, RuiSantos, Tiagohttps://hdl.handle.net/10316/1080172023-08-16T11:38:35Z2021-12-18T00:00:00ZTitle: Smart tourism and local heritage: phygital experiences and the development of geotourism routes

Abstract: Contemporary society is sustained by a growing digitalization of social processes, with exponential growth
in the uses of ICT, which opened up new interaction possibilities with objects and places. In the field
of tourism, these technological developments have given rise to the emergence of new concepts: smart
tourism, smart destinations, smart experiences, and smart heritage. These concepts and their implications
for the success of tourist activities are discussed first, and then the focus of analysis is shifted to the
local tourism resources and characteristics. The case study focuses on the municipality of São Pedro do
Sul, an area located in the Viseu Dão Lafões subregion, within the Central Region of Portugal. Several
low-cost digital strategies are proposed to enrich tourism activities based on endogenous cultural and
natural resources and empower route tourism as a relevant strategy for diversifying tourism and support
the sustainable development of local communities based on a digital application that aims to integrate
storytelling in the territorial context under study.2021-12-18T00:00:00ZWalking & Cycling: uma nova geografia do turismoCarvalho, Paulohttps://hdl.handle.net/10316/1046332023-01-21T21:46:52Z2021-01-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Walking & Cycling: uma nova geografia do turismo

A crescente visibilidade desta temática no plano internacional e o escasso interesse que a mesma mereceu até ao momento no seio da comunidade académica e na esfera editorial nacional, justificam a publicação deste livro, suportado em revisão de literatura científica e investigação de campo, com integração de escalas, para oferecer aos leitores uma pers-petiva geográfica centrada em dois dos mais relevantes segmentos do turismo pós-moderno.; Pedestrian and outdoor cycling activities have achieved an impor-tant growth in recent years, through several infrastructure configurations with a special vocation for the promotion of pedestrianism and the use of the bicycle in daily life, leisure and tourism. The new products of nature tourism, such as those linked to pedestrian and cycling itineraries, not only assume greater expression in rural and mountainous territories, but are fundamental to respond to the demands and motivations linked to increasingly specialized activities, personalized and facilitating unique and intense experiences. The increasing visibility of this theme at the international level and the scant interest it has deserved so far within the academic community and in the national publishing sphere justify the publication of this book, supported by a review of scientific literature and field research, with integration of scales, to offer readers a geographical perspective centered on two of the most relevant segments of postmodern tourism.2021-01-01T00:00:00ZGastronomia e vinhos: um produto sempre novo com raízes nas tradições da cultura da população portuguesaSantos, Norbertohttps://hdl.handle.net/10316/795682019-06-02T11:05:09Z2017-12-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Gastronomia e vinhos: um produto sempre novo com raízes nas tradições da cultura da população portuguesa

Abstract: A nossa relação com o trabalho modificou -se significativamente ao longo
das últimas décadas. Max Kaplan (Leisure in America: a social inquiry, 1960),
Georges Hourdin (Une civilisations des loisirs, 1961), Nels Anderson (Work
and Leisure: A Perceptive Inquiry Into Current Ways of Using Time, 1961),
Joffre Dumazedier (Vers une civilisation du loisir? , 1962), entre muitos outros,
perceberam cedo, no início da segunda metade do século XX, tal como Paul
Lafargue (Le Droit à la paresse, 1880) e Thorstein Veblen (The Theory of the
