Biography

Ana Eva Miguéis is a Librarian in the University of Coimbra (UC) and she coordinates the Joint Management Systems and Services Area of the General Library of the University of Coimbra. She used to coordinate the Joint Library Service of the University of Coimbra, a technical support and coordination structure for the libraries of this University, now integrated in the General Library. Prior to her role at the UC, she was the Director of the libraries of the Coimbra Hospital Centre (1989-2010) and she also headed the Staff Training Department of the same Hospital (2006-2010). She has a degree in History (1987), a postgraduate qualification in Archives (1989) and in Libraries (1992). She completed her master degree in Information, Communication and Media in 2012, subordinating the subject of her dissertation to the Open Access repository of the University of Coimbra. Between 2006 and 2011 she was a lecturer in Documentation Sciences Specialisation Course in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra. She participated as a trainer in several training courses, integrated committees and boards recruiting staff and made part of the leadership body and subcommittees of professional associations. She participated in different projects and activities, like RCAAP Dissemination National Working Group coordination. She organized some national and international events, including the 500 Years of the Coimbra University Library Congress (2014) and the 5th Luso-Brazilian Conference on Open Access, both taken place held in Coimbra, in 2014. She also has published several articles and presented a few communications about Libraries and Information Science subject.
