Biography
Maria Helena Jacinto Santana. Humanities - Languages and Literature area (s) with an emphasis on Portuguese Literature. Ph.D. in Letters in 2001/05/14 by the University of Coimbra, Master in Comparative Literature (Portuguese and French) in 1988/01/20 and Degree in Modern Languages and Literature in 1982/07/15 by the University of Coimbra - Faculty of Letters. Associate Professor at the University of Coimbra - Faculty of Letters, and an integrated member of the Portuguese Literature Center (CLP), where she coordinates the Research Group "Literary Heritage". Research areas: - 19th-century Portuguese literature - literary and cultural history. Main publications within the scope of the romantic and realistic novel (among other narrative genres); - Philological text editing; - Literature, Science and Society in the modern and contemporary narrative. Current interests: - Portuguese literature (19th century), areas of literary and cultural history. Main publications focussed on romantic and realist novel (alongside with other narrative genres). - Philological edition of major literary texts (team leader of the critical edition of the works of Almeida Garrett). - Literature, Science & Society in the modern and contemporary novel.
